In LAMDA Acting, learners focus on the foundation of actor training: the development of a clear speaking voice and effective body language in order to establish character. They also develop key life skills, such as understanding and empathy, by engaging with different circumstances in a practical way. Promoting creative thinking and exploration, learners acquire memory skills, spatial awareness, vocal confidence, and physical presence. Contrasting monologues are selected, studied, staged, memorised, and performed for both the exam and a sharing showcase.
London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) courses are aimed at developing learners’ self-confidence and a broad range of essential life skills that will support themin the future. Weekly classes are rooted in encouraging participants to develop a love of literature and performance. All courses are taught in English and culminate in a springtime graded exam adjudicated by an external LAMDA examiner from London. Students receive an official LAMDA certificate of achievement and a written report from the examiner providing feedback on the assessment. At medal levels, these internationally-recognised qualifications award UCAS tariff points for university admissions
