Owing to the Covid-19 pandemic and the rules currently in place to protect the health of Ecolint students and staff, the conference "Water Resources: Stream of Cooperation, Stream of Rivalries" scheduled for 6 October 2020 has been postponed to a later date. Thank you for your understanding.

Water is the basis of various goods and services that are essential for the functioning of humanity. A renewable resource, water remains limited and faces numerous threats, both regarding its quality and quantity. It is therefore continuously at the heart of negotiations; power games and political processes and it is not unusual to read or listen to statements addressing water risks or water wars.

In this regard, this conference targets several objectives. First, our aim is to better understand the functioning of a hydrological system facing deep uncertainty due to climate change. Then, we will focus on the political dimension of water management and on existing discourses that structure the sector. Finally, focusing on different examples, we try to better understand the role of water in conflict and cooperation dynamics. This conference, combined with interludes from the Symphony for water and peace, aims to contribute to a better understanding of contemporary challenges of water management.
