Drawing inspiration from the work of Alda Merini, widely regarded as one of Italy’s greatest poets, a non-conformist and brilliant provocateur, this piece brings together seven performers, artists and fiercely committed collaborators. Far from being suppressed, their individualities are heightened and embodied within a political and poetic collective, almost utopian in nature. Together, they offer us their breath, their creativity and, above all, their faith in the future: the dawn of a shared joy.

For several years, Cie Linga has been exploring group choreography and the art of creating a collective on stage: a living, shifting organism, able to form and reform itself into fluid, ever-changing configurations. An ensemble that is more than the sum of its individual parts, born from the encounter of thinking, creating bodies and giving rise to a genuine collective consciousness.

They imagine a world in which the diversity of identities that make up the collective, and the acceptance, recognition and visibility of individual differences, become a source of collective richness. A world far removed from the synchronised, uniform formations traditionally associated with group movement.

In this search for a collective harmony, bodies seek one another out, come together and merge, forging new connections and new forms. The relationships that emerge are so intense that emotions begin to circulate: shared, understood and felt by all.

And within the simultaneity of collective movement, each individual finds the space to fully unfold their own singularity. The group does not erase difference; it embraces it, reveals it and gives each person the freedom to let it flourish.
