Flux Laboratory presents Countless, a dance performance created by Greek artist and choreographer Markella Manoliadi, as part of the Flux School Next programme, initiated by Flux Laboratory Athens.

Countless takes as its starting point a question by Markella Manoliadi related to her tangible memory and experience as a dancer: "how many versions of myself have I danced so far"? This question was posed not only as an inventory, a way to review with nostalgia all that constitutes her artistic identity today, but also as a kind of reflection on the function of the body-archive, a body that activates memories and revives experiences in relation to the questions posed during the pedagogical and artistic process.

Markella Manoliadi brought this reflection to the heart of the Flux School Next educational programme, inviting the 15 participating dancers to question the way embodied knowledge is structured, the details that emerge in the search for interpretive qualities in movement, the variability of experience, as the individual distinguishes herself from the group in order to recast herself.

Markella Manoliadi has created a choreography with an open structure, wanting to propose a scenic condition that welcomes and supports the pedagogical part, without denying the fragility of any young dancer who takes her first steps on stage. This project is a welcoming gesture, a collective wish consecrating the countless stage experiences of the students who are opening themselves to the paths of the art of dance.
