Poïétiques
Monograph by Momar Seck
The first edition, produced by the Centre des arts of Ecolint and supported by the Fondation CHU Teh-Chun, Poïétiques is realised under the artistic direction of Manuel Fadat and Isabelle Muller. The publication is issued by Hématomes, a publishing house based in Liège, and distributed between Paris, Brussels, Dakar and Geneva.
To enter the work of Momar Seck is to follow a river: an intimate movement in which a rare, embodied I opens a passage into the interior of a world — a vibrant ecosystem made of gestures, materials, and thought in action.
At the closest point to the studio, the artist weaves, welds, glues, knots and assembles. His practice unfolds as a living language, where each gesture becomes a crossing, a form of hybridity, and the creation of meaning.
In this narrative, Momar Seck shares his relationship to materials, their sensory, symbolic and political dimensions, and the way each work becomes a space of transformation and emancipation.
Poïétiques thus offers access to a thought in motion, deeply human, that constructs, connects and acts upon the world, at the heart of a practice that is vital and ever-expanding.
Traces Organiques
Drawing Exhibition
Through a series of drawings inspired by the living world, Momar Seck explores the invisible links between matter, nature and emotion. Foliage, roots, textures and organic forms come together as a sensitive language, poised between observation and inner poetry.
Each work invites the viewer to slow down, to see differently, and to perceive the subtle traces left by time, the earth, and the breath of life.
The private view extends this experience through a meeting with the artist and a book signing, opening a dialogue between image, writing and thought in motion.
